By using Shared Area you accept these terms of service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the platform.

2. What Shared Area Is

Shared Area is a UK registered educational charity providing free, verified educational video content. Our mission is to give every learner equal access to safe, accurate, and inspiring education. The platform is free to use and will always remain free.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features (uploading content, earning XP, saving favourites), you need to create an account. Accounts require only a username and password — we do not collect email addresses.

Important: Because we do not collect email addresses, we cannot send password reset links. If you forget your password, we will not be able to recover your account. Please keep your password safe.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

4. Content You Upload

When you upload a video or record an audio narration on Shared Area:

• Your content must be educational, accurate, and appropriate for learners of all ages
• You must have the right to share the content (it must be your own work or you must have permission)
• You grant Shared Area a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute your content on the platform
• You retain ownership of your content — we do not claim ownership
• We reserve the right to reject or remove any content that does not meet our standards

5. Acceptable Use

When using Shared Area, you agree not to:

• Upload harmful, offensive, misleading, or non-educational content
• Upload content that is not appropriate for all ages
• Use the platform for spam, commercial promotion, or advertising
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data
• Interfere with the operation of the platform
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate XP, ratings, or achievements

6. Content Verification

All content uploaded to Shared Area is reviewed by our verification team before it becomes visible to learners. This process ensures content is safe, accurate, and appropriate. No content goes live without verification — there are no exceptions.

7. Disclaimer

Educational content on Shared Area is contributed by community members and reviewed by qualified individuals. While we take every reasonable step to ensure accuracy and safety, we cannot guarantee that all content is completely free from errors. Content should be used as a learning aid alongside other educational resources.

8. Limitation of Liability

Shared Area is provided "as is" by a charitable organisation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to: reliance on content accuracy, service interruptions, or loss of data.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
